Thurrock 43, Campion 19
THURROCK made a winning start when they took to the field competitively for the first time this season in the London and South East Countues Esex One Division.
After their first match at Cooperians was called off and awarded to Thurrock as the hosts couldn't field a team, there was lengthened wait after a productive pre-season but the team, under new captain Kodie Holloway, didn't disappoint.
Holloway, who has been a central figure for the Tees both on and off the field, was appointed following the departure of last season's captain Niall Clifford
A club statement said: "Kodie leads with passion, consistency and a relentless work ethic. His commitment to the badge and his influence in the dressing room make him the perfect choice to carry the team forward into the new season.
"The club would like to thank Niall for his outstanding service and leadership last season, and we look forward to seeing Kodie lead Thurrock into this exciting new chapter.
Jay Jennings has stepped up to the Vice Captain role.
