T-Birds Twos are stood down
By Nub News Reporter 23rd Sep 2025

AFTER two successful seasons which saw the club top two leagues and win two national competitions, Nub News understands Thurrock Rugby Club T-Birds Second team has been scrapped.
The team won last season's NC 1 South East (North) with a match to spare and in May doubled up by lifting the Papa Johns Intermediate Cup at Twickenham.

The previous season the girls also triumphed at Twickenham when winning the Papa Johns Junior Cup, as well as their league.
However, natural evolution in both the men's and women's sections has seen a concentration of coaching resources and some of the club's senior players have moved on meaning it was unlikely a second women's team could be sustained through the season.
T-Birds seconds were due to compete in the Championship South East 2 season with a first match at Beckenham last weekend which didn't happen after the club made its decision on the eve of the fixture.
T-Birds IIs were also due to play at Westcliff in the Intermediate Cupo on Sunday, 26 October.
