Chingford 3, Thurrock 28

THURROCK took advantage of Romford and Gidea Park being sidelined by the withdrawal of Old Cooperians from the league to extend their 100 per cent record with a convincing London and South East Counties One Essex win at Chingford that leaves them clear at the top of the table.

The visitors took the lead on 12 minutes when John Frear crossed the line and Alex Baker converted.

The same duo replicated the feat just after the half hour.

Thurrock took their dominance into the second half and a brace of tries from Caolan Watts-Adams and Grant Scott, both converted by Baker, ensured a comfortable victory.

Thurrock are next in league action on Saturday, 8 November when Epping Upper Clapton will visit Oakfields.
