Wednesday 21 January
Do you have a little time to make a big difference in someone's life?
Thurrock Carers Service is inviting you to learn more about becoming a Carers Befriender at our Volunteer Recruitment Day on 21st January, from 10am to 4pm, at our Grays Hub, inside Grays Shopping Centre.
Carers Befrienders play a vital role in supporting those who look after a family member or friend living in Thurrock. Caring can be rewarding, but it can also be isolating and challenging. By volunteering as a befriender, you can offer companionship, a listening ear and emotional support, helping carers feel less alone and more connected to their community.
No specialist qualifications are required to become a befriender, just empathy, reliability and a willingness to support others.
Volunteers are carefully matched with carers and receive full training and ongoing support from Thurrock Carers Service. Whether you can offer a few hours a week or less frequently, your time can have a meaningful impact.
At the recruitment day, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Meet the Thurrock Carers Service team
- Find out what the befriending role involves
- Ask questions about training, support and volunteering commitments
- Learn how you can make a positive difference to carers' lives
If you're interested in giving back to your community and supporting those who care for others in Thurrock, come along and find out more. Drop in at any time between 10am and 4pm, we'd love to meet you.
Come along and learn how you can support someone in your community.
