COLLEAGUES, friends and customers of a Thurrock mum who died suddenly have paid many heartfelt tributes after her sudden death.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics and emergency services that rushed to the home of Vicki Steward, on Southend Road, Grays, after she suddenly became ill on Wednesday, 12 January, they were unable to save her.
Vicki, 54, a mum of two, worked at the nearby Co-op store on Socketts Heath where staff have been shocked and heartbroken by the news. A candle has been lit and tribute created at the store in memory of a lady whose 'beautiful and welcoming smile' was welcomed by so many.
Many borough residents, particularly those in the Stifford Clays, Little Thurrock and Blackshots areas have already taken to social media to pay their tribute to Vicki, who leaves behind partner Rob Vesey and children Leon and Poppy.
Among the many messages were the following: "She always had a smile on her face, and made a fuss of my girls when we came in to the shop", "She was such a lovely lady", "Vicki was one of life's beautiful souls, "She was a lovely charismatic person, who always had a smile on her face. She will be missed" and "Such a lovely lady that always was so friendly and big smile on her face".
Others remarked on the care and consideration Vicki showed to customers at the Co-op, including this comment: "Vicki was a lovely part of our community and really took care of her customers."
