Changes sought to controversial planning permission
THE company that won controversial planning permission to build eight homes in Grays is seeking amendments to the conditions put on the site build – though they say it is being done to improve the development an alleviate concerns about the development.
Permission was won on appeal to the planning inspectorate for the homes off Meesons Lane, despite significant local opposition.
Now the developer has made an application to change some aspects of the scheme. The applications says: "The changes proposed include modest changes to the footprint and layout of the dwellings to facilitate increases in the size of the proposed amenity spaces and to provide access to the dwellings at ground floor level, removing the previously proposed walkways at first floor level. "The amendments also include alternative material choices which are considered to be more reflective of the surrounding development, which it is noted was previously a particular concern among members of the planning committee."
