THURROCK residents and would-be entrepreneurs are being invited to have their business ideas turned into reality, thanks to another Thurrock Soup event.

Thurrock Soup events aim to help inspire social enterprise and business ideas from participants and offer advice and support in starting a new business and in identifying funding.

Due to current restrictions, the latest event will be held on Zoom and it will take place on Friday, 12 February at 7pm (joining from 6.45pm). As it's just two days before Valentine's day the theme will be reminding people to 'Love Business'.

There is already £250 in the pot , thanks to sponsors Port of Tilbury, all of which will go to whoever is voted as winner on the evening.

Those with an inspirational idea get a chance to pitch to the group and then when everyone has voted on their favourite idea the winning entry receives all the donations plus the £250 already collected. Previous Soup winners have received £125 to £180 to use towards setting up their business. Nearly £2,000 has been raised to date and has been used to help a number of new businesses start up already!

This event which is being hosted by Riverside Community Big Local (a National Lottery funded organisation) in partnership with Thurrock Council's Economic Development team is open to all residents, businesses and voluntary sector organisations in Thurrock.
