POLICE attended and for a period of time this afternoon (Thursday, 2 September) put up a cordon at Impulse Leisure Centre in Corringham while it was closed.

Staff at the centre confirmed that there was an 'incident' at the centre's pool which was closed.

Police left the scene at 3.15pm.

All facilities at the centre are now open.

What happened still remains uncertain. At 6.17pm this evening Thurrock Council told Nub News: "This matter appears to be a police incident and therefore they would be better placed to respond."

We await a response from police.

Updates to follow.
