POLICE have appealed for witnesses or any footage following an accident yesterday at a notorious junction in Grays which saw the air ambulance help deal with an injured motor bike rider.

The incident, which left the rider with serious injuries, happened at the junction of Bradleigh Avenue and Lodge Lane.

A statement from Essex Police says: "We were called at around 5.45pm yesterday, Monday, 14 March, following reports of a collision in Grays.

"A BMW car and a motorcycle were in collision in Lodge Lane. Ambulance colleagues attended and took the motorcyclist, a man aged in his 20s, to hospital after he sustained a leg injury.

"The road was closed while we carried out our enquiries and reopened at 8.15pm.

"Our enquiries are ongoing, and we need anyone who saw anything or has any dash cam footage to contact us.

A spokesperson for the East of Engalnd ambulance Service said: "An ambulance, an ambulance officer vehicle and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance attended a road traffic collision involving a motorcyclist on Lodge Lane, Grays.

"One patient was transported by road to Basildon and Thurrock Hospital with serious injuries."
