A MOTOR bike rider suffered serious injuries this evening after a collision on what has become a notorious junction in Grays.

There have been a number of crashes at the junction of Bradleigh Avenue and Lodge Lane since it was reconfigured by Thurrock Council in 2018.

The latest happened this evening (Monday, 14 March) around 6pm after which the bike rider was taken to hospital.

The crash mirrors one in 2020 in which a rider suffered serious injuries.

That was one of a number of incidents that happened in quick succcession, including another serious incident which prompted condemnation of the junction by local councillor Cathy Kent.

The council - which had previously said there were no issues with the junction configuration - did eventually react by putting in average speed cameras on Lodge Lane, but there have still been frequent collisions at the junction.

Emergency services have been asked for an update on the condition of the rider involved in today's crash and the circumstances surrounding the collision.
