POLICE have called for help from the public after stepping up their investigation into a large fight that broke in Tilbury last week.

As reported on Thurrock Nub News on the evening of Saturday, 3 July, there was a large disturbance outside Tilbury rail station involving a group of men, reported to be from the Travelling community.

A large number of police, including officers with dogs, attended the incident which involved at least two vehicles being in collision and let the road strewn with glass debris and stones.

The following day police played down the incident and reported that just one vehicle was involved.

However, they have now issued a call for witnesses and possible video footage after elevating the seriousness of the event.

A statement from the force says: "We are investigating an incident where it was reported a vehicle was driven at a group of people in Tilbury.

"We had initially been called to reports of a disturbance taking place outside the railway station.
