A POPULAR Christmas lights attraction will once more sparkle around a Thurrock home for a good cause.

Whitmore's Winter Wonderland' has become something of an annual treat at the Grays home of Jamie Bagge and has grown in size each time.

This year the lights, in Whitmore Avenue, Stifford Clays, will be switched on at 5pm on Wednesday, 1 December.

The event will also feature Santa in his grotto and Grays Town brass band. Hot food and drinks will be available.

This year there will be added poignancy at the switch on for Jamie. Over the years his nan, Maureen Weaver, has been a huge supporter of the charity fundraising event but she passed away a couple of weeks ago.

This year's good cause, which has been selected in tribute to her, will be announced at the switch on event.

"Her continued support that meant everything to me and so this year is in her memory," said Jamie.
