VILLAGERS in a borough community will be making the effort to commemorate the 75th anniversary of VJ Day this weekend.

Bulphan has planned a socially distanced series of events, starting (provisionally) with piping at dawn on Saturday, 15 August by Jo Goddard.

She will play again at 11am at the church after which village town crier Steve Benn will proclaim the cry for peace and the church bell will be run 75 times.

In the afternoon residents and ex residents of the village are invited to a party in the park during which there wil be entertainment.
