THREE women community police officers have paid tribute to a knight errant with a chainsaw who stopped and helped them with a storm-related emergency this evening.

The officers, members of Thurrock's community policing team were called to deal with a fallen tree on Lower Dunton Road last on Sunday evening.

The road was blocked and the officers were struggling with how to deal with it until a local resident with a chain saw appeared on the scene

PCSO JoJo Mitchell told the story: "Myself and the lovely PCSO Jacqueline Middleton and PCSO Sheri Middleton attended this highway disruption tonight.

"The day was saved by a Stanford resident called James who came to the rescue in Lower Dunton Road with his chainsaw and cleared the road

"Not all heroes wear capes."
