A borough full of toppers!

RESIDENTS and community groups across the borough are getting ready to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and one of the many ways it is being marked is by the creation of post box toppers.

Nub News has previously featured the work of Stanford-le-Hope's crochet champion Stanley Jackson and the Needles and Chat group of knitters in Grays but there are others who are making a contribution.

Also in Grays there are four post boxes in the Little Thurrock and Blackshots area that have been regally decorated by the work of knitter Sabine Oakley – which all include a rather impressive crown.

And in Corringham the ladies at the Betty's Bits and Bobs shop, renowned for their community efforts, have created a large topper for the town's double post box – and they are currently working on rosettes to adorn the town's lampposts.
