THURROCK'S Re-engage charity hosted an afternoon to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee with a lunch at the Orsett Hall.
Regional organiser for the charity, which regularly organises events including tea parties to unite and occupy lonely and vulnerable people across the borough, is Loraine Coleman who said: "There was so much laughter and enjoyment in the room, celebrating with all our tea party guests and volunteers coming together, also celebrating Rosemary's and Sheila's birthdays.
"Thank you so much to our lovely Ira for organising this event which also featured a number of special guests who we have waited a long time to thank for their amazing support over many years.
They included Roger and Heather from the Rotary Club of the Mardyke Valley, Eylem from Procter & Gamble, and Carol, Kim and Lillie who had made an amazing donation in memory of their lovely mum and nan, Mary.
"Thank you to Clarissa for decorating the hall with beautiful balloons and bunting, Maggie and Laura for organising the free draw and everyone who donated gifts. Thank you to our lovely Angie and Rog for volunteering their time to entertain us.
"Thurrock Re-engage has the most amazing volunteers who without their dedication and love these events would not be possible. Lots of love and hugs to them all."
