THE A13 was closed eastbound for several hours at the Five Bells roundabout while emergency services deal with a multi-vehicle accident which happened around 8.45am.

Traffic was diverted up and over the roundabout.

Though the vehicles were removed, the road remains closed eastwards until early afternoon when it reopened.

A statement from Essex Police says: "We were called to reports of a collision involving four vehicles on the A13 near to the Five Bells roundabout junction around 8.15am on Monday 9 August.

"The road was closed to allow emergency services to attend but has since reopened.

"If you saw the incident or have dash cam footage please call us on 101 quoting incident 207 of 9 August."
