THURROCK planners have been asked to approve a new plan to build houses and a care home on land in North Stifford.

Two previous applications for development on the land previously occupied by the Ardale School have been rejected.

The latest proposal is for 97 new dwellings made up of 14 single bedroomed homes, 24 two bed, 33 three bed and 26 four bed homes.

In addition to this there is a proposed 77 bed care home.

The applicants say the layout of the dwellings and streets has been 'carefully designed to ensure that they respond to the ecological constraints of the site'

Several individual residents have objected to the proposals while the North Stifford residents group is considering its response.

The full application, and the opportunity to comment, can be found via this link.
