GRAYS-based John F Hunt Group has just donated over 800 items of food, toiletries and other household essentials to the Thurrock FoodBank. Fifteen boxes of several different products were collected by FoodBank volunteers yesterday (Wednesday, 18 December).

The collection was done during the past two weeks, across all companies and divisions that are part of the John F Hunt Group, which is administered from offices in London Road, Grays. More than half of these donations were bought from a local supermarket after a joint money collection of the Concrete Cutting and Environmental Divisions.

Thurrock FoodBank opened in 2012 to help local individuals and families in crisis. Due to the success of this initiative, John F Hunt Group says it is planning to organise similar collections a few times through next year.
