Another storm warning - batten down the hatches for New Year's Day night says Met Office
THE Met Office has issued a severe weather warning for the East of England this evening (Monday, 1 January).m, and through tomorrow.
Residents and motorists are warned to prepare for a spell of very windy weather, accompanied by heavy rain in places, is likely to cause some travel disruption.
What to Expect
- Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely and damage to trees is possible
- It's likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves
- Probably some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer
- Some short term loss of power and other services is possible
- Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely
