THOUGH Thurrock's roads remain much quieter than usual, Essex Police officers have still found they have been busy.

The Essex Roads Policing Unit has been active in the borough today - and for one offender that brought about a double arrest.

A unit spokesperson said: "A Lakeside drug driver arrested this morning was warned not to drive after being released from custody.

"However, clearly he thought that was a joke as we have just arrested him again for the same offence!

"That's a dangerous driver off the road and returned to his cell in custody!"

And two vehicles were taken off the road.

Police reported they seized two vans that were being used to transport off road bikes!

"The spokesperson added: "We take anti-social behaviour very seriously and we know this is an ongoing issue for the local residents."
