PUPILs, families and staff of Arthur Bugler Primary School are celebrating a historic milestone today as they officially announced the final fundraising total from their participation in the TCS Mini London Marathon.
In a display of community spirit, the school has raised £6,300 which will now be invested back into the school in Stanford-le-Hope to ensure students get further opportunities and experiences to enhance their learning journey.
The "Mighty Mini Marathoners", comprising students from across the school, took to the iconic course with grit, enthusiasm and most importantly, teamwork.
Their efforts were backed by an overwhelming wave of support from the local Stanford-le-Hope community, friends, and family members.
Mrs Lucy Cordell, a teacher from Arthur Bugler Primary who was responsible for organising this event said: "This was never just about a race. It was about watching our children (and staff) realise that they are capable of incredible things.
"To see our 'Mighty Mini Marathoners' tackle this challenge with such determination was a true masterclass in heart and resilience.
"We have truly witnessed history in the making. Every single penny of this phenomenal £6,300 is going directly back into Arthur Bugler Primary. This money will ensure that our children have the best learning adventures each and every day, turning their school years into a journey of discovery they will never forget.
"The success of the event highlights that when a community comes together, incredible things happen for the next generation."
