Battle of Britain service will go ahead in Grays on Sunday

A SERVICE of commemoration to honour the fallen of the Battle of Britain and veterans of the monumental effort that changed the course of World War Two will take place in Grays on Sunday (18 September).

Thurrock Royal Air Force Association has organised the event that will take place at the War Memorial on the High Street, starting at 10.45am.

The service will be led by Maureen McPherson, Methodist Lay Preacher and RAF Air Cadets Padre.

Representatives of the armed and emergency services will be present and there will b ea number of civic dignitaries including Thurrock MP Jackie Doyle-Price and borough Mayor, Cllr James Halden.
