Civic service in Grays to honour the Queen

A CIVIC Service of thanksgiving and remembrance marking the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II, will be held at St Peter and St Paul's Church in Grays at 4pm on Sunday (18 September).

The ceremony, which will be attended by Mayor of Thurrock, Cllr James Halden, and led by Mayoral Chaplain Reverend Canon Darren Barlow.

A statement from the council says: "It offers an opportunity to celebrate the life of the country's longest serving monarch and mourn her passing.

"All are welcome to attend the service and join dignitaries and the community in this shared moment of national and local mourning."
