THE thunderous roar of several dozen powerful motorbikes was an emotional sound for a young borough girl who was the victim of a horrifying assault at the hands of fellow girl pupils.

Police are continuing to investigate the attack, which was filmed and shared among young people in the East Thurrock area, adding to the trauma of the actual incident which left the 13-year-old Gable Hall student with a broken nose.

The incident was reported on Thurrock Nub News, which you can read via this link. It does contain scenes of graphic violence.

The teenager's situation has touched the hearts of many local people and a fundraising page has already gathered in close to £1,000 to help her recover and enjoy some treats.

It's what they do: Thurrock Bikers pass on their support to the family.

Today (Saturday, 19 August) members of the Thurrock Bikers group, which is renowned for its charitable efforts and support for local causes, 'rode out' to the family's Corringham home to show their support and hand over a collection they have made.

It was an emotional moment for the family and, with tears in her eyes, the girl's mum said:" I just cannot thank people enough. There has been so much support and kindness shown to my daughter and our family.

"Though this has been an awful experience, it has also been heartwarming to know there are so many people out there, complete strangers to us, who care so much. We are very, very grateful."
