AN Aveley householder is seeking to cut down two trees planted as part of a housing estate put up in 2011.

Mrs Helen Chittock of 107 St Michael's Close wants to remove the trees which she says are damaging the fencing around her garden area.

When the trees were put in place as part of the planning agreement for the new estate a tree preservation order was put in place on the new planting.

However, Mrs Chittock says she has tried to manage the trees' root growth but cannot find an effective measure ans so wants them cut down.

Her application to Thurrock Council to remove them has been supported by Grays-based Griffin Residential Block Management who manage the estate's environment.
