THURROCK has provided two out of the three finalists in a competition to find the best cafe in Essex.

The competition is organised by Essex Live and the Propper Vintage tearoom in Grays and Bombers Cafe at Orsett have made the final shortlist.

The Proper Vintage Tearoom on William Street only opened last November and has already proved hugely popular and become a hub for community events.

Bombers, on the junction of the A13 and the A128 is longer established, but during Covid went through a major refurbishment. It also plays host to community events, including a recent veteran's barbecue, which will be repeated in October with a visit by comic Jim Davidson.

You can vote for your favourite via this link.

It's the third year of the Essex Eats awards with the search on to find the county's best pub, restaurant, cafe and takeaway.
