TWO Thurrock solicitors have thrown their support behind a fundraising initiative from St Luke's Hospice and will be offering a will-writing service to borough residents.

Hattens Solicitors and MRP Capron, both based in Grays, are supporting St Luke's 'Make a Will Month' which begins today (1 September) – an opportunity to make or update your Will, while also supporting your local Hospice.

Both will provide their will-writing expertise for free in exchange for a donation to St Luke's Hospice, which is about to open its new premises in Thurrock which will complement the existing hospice in Basildon and a wide range of other services

Sarah Stoddart, organiser of the Make a Will Month campaign for St Luke's says: "Ensuring your will is up to date helps give you peace of mind and security for your loved ones. There is no obligation to do so, but making or updating your Will is also a great opportunity for you to remember the charities you care about, like St Luke's Hospice, by including a gift in your will."

MRP Capron can be contacted by calling Kate Middleton on 01375 390239 while Hattens' number is 01375 374851 – ask for Hayley Antoine or Leonie Adams.

Sarah adds: "Please don't forget to reference St. Luke's Hospice when you make your appointment."

There are more details available on St Luke's website via this link. There you will also find a downloadable Will Planner to use as preparation before appointments.

There is a suggested donation amount of £100 for a single Will, £175 for a mirror Will and £50 for a codicil that can be made to St Luke's Hospice.

If you have any questions contact the St. Luke's Hospice Fundraising team on 01268 524973 or email [email protected].
