Borough tally of confirmed coronavirus cases tops 100 in single biggest daily increase

AFTER a one day respite from rising figures, Thurrock's number of confirmed coronavirus cases climed dramatically today (Sunday, 5 April).

From an overnight total of 83 cases, the number rose to 105 - the biggest single day increase in released figures.

Nationally, on the day PM Boris Johnson was admitted to hospital because of increasing symptoms of Covid-19, nearly 48,000 people have now tested positive.

A total of 4,934 people across the UK confirmed to have had the virus have died.
