A THURROCK doctors' surgery that was forced to close for a deep clean has apologised to patients and visitors for continued delays and communication problems.

As reported on Friday Hassengate Medical Centre in Stanford-le-Hope had to close following the death of a patient.

Today (Monday, 6 April) the surgery says fallout from the incident continues.

It has issued a statement saying: " To all our patients. Unfortunately there was an incident at Hassengate Medical Centre, as a result the Practice had to be deep cleaned and several members of staff have to self-isolate.

"Please be patient when you phone the Practice as you will have a wait to be put through.

"If you wish to speak to someone please remember that you can also call 111.

"Please try not to visit the practice unless you have an appointment. Thank you for your patience and co-operation."

Over the weekend the Stanford and wider Thurrock community mourned the death of the patient, popular local figure Gino Renoldi. See report
