By Neil Speight 10th Sep 2022

A PUBLIC reading of the Proclamation of the Accession of King Charles III will be taking place this Sunday (11 September) in Thurrock.

It will take place at 2pm outside the Civic Offices, opposite St Peter and St Paul's Church, on the High Street in Grays.

The service will feature a reading of the Proclamation by Mayor of Thurrock, Cllr James Halden.

This is a public event and anyone is welcome to attend.

In addition a book of condolence has been opened for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in the Civic Offices, Grays.

The Mayor of Thurrock signed the book on Friday morning, and it is now open for all residents who wish to express their sympathies.

The Book of Condolence will be available for signing between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, until the day after the state funeral. It will also be available to sign for a short time on Sunday after the Proclamation.

Buckingham Palace has opened an online Book of Condolence, which you can sign at The Royal Family website.
