M25 QE2 Bridge

Lane (or Lanes) closed, strong Winds, queueing Traffic, congestion to

Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to strong winds on M25 QE2 Bridge clockwise from J31 A1306 to J1A A206 (Dartford). Congestion to J30 A13 (Lakeside).

Cameras show lanes one and three (of four) have been closed again for safety in case vehicles get blown..

Tilbury Ferry - Normal scheduled service restarted at noon.

THOUGH the anticipated strong winds cutting across the country have not yet reached sufficient strength to force the close of the QEII Bridge, there is some congestion motorists in the area will have to put up with overnight - and in the morning users of the Tilbury to Gravesend Ferry will have to find alternative modes of transport as it will be closed.

A statement this evening from operators Jetstream says: "From 5am to 10am due to strong winds and "wind over tide" effect there will be no am service on Thursday, 11 March. We apologise for this inconvenience."

Meanwhile on the roads this evening the left bore of the Dartford Crossing is closed for roadworks and there will be one lane closed on the A13 eastbound – closed between the A1012 (Grays) and A1089 (Tilbury) from 10pm until 5am. Earlier this evening there was congestion on the same stretch while emergency services dealt with a three vehicle accident.

Tomorrow evening (Thursday) the A13 will be closed in both directions between A128 (Orsett Cock) and A1014 (Stanford-le-Hope) with a diversion via the A1013 Stanford Road.

And there will be major diversions in place over the weekend on the A13. [ See story here.
