BUS enthusiasts have been in omnibus heaven today (Saturday, 3 December) as the fleet of classic vehicles owned, maintained and operated by the Thurrock-based Ensign Bus Company have been out and about on local routes.

Dozens of bus fans flocked to Lakeside's bus station, which is where most of the routes operated from, spreading out across the borough and into East London.

Many opted to take up a day rider pass and travelled on a number of the vehicles.

Others simply added to their treasured picture collections as the vehicles came and went from the bus station.
