The cadets ran a speeding operation at Orsett Heath, supported by a number of senior officers.

Elsewhere officers conducted foot patrols and intelligence-led mobile patrols across several locations targeting off road bikes, including the fields adjacent to Billet Lane and Wharf Road in Stanford-le-Hope, Muckingford Road in Linford and the Heath fields in Chadwell.

A police spokesperson said: "The day was a great success, with more than 40 checks and stop searches conducted, one stolen moped was located and recovered, eight fail to stop for police recorded, one arrest for possession of an offensive weapon, numerous intelligence reports gathered and submitted.
