AN appeal has been issued by Thurrock's Foodbank for help with two upcoming supermarket food collections.

They will take place on Saturday 10 September at Morrisons in Grays and Saturday, 19 November at Sainsburys in Chafford Hundred.

Volunteer Business Co ordinator Sandra Sawles says: "We are in need of volunteers for two hour slots at our supermarket collections.

"We are aware that people have busy lives but having people at these events makes a real difference to the volume of donations we receive - people can volunteer alone, with a friend or as a family.

"Together we can make a difference to people referred to us in crisis in Thurrock"

This is being organised by the Ukrainian people who have been placed in Thurrock who have knowledge of where this is needed and will get the help there quickly.

"Our first collection point is our Church Hall on Friday, 26 August between 1 and 7 o'clock. Items can also can be left in our Vicarage Porch.

"Our address is St John's Vicarage, Dock Road, Tilbury, RM18 7PP. The Church Hall is next door to the church on the corner of Wellington Road.
