Car hit house - driver arrested

POLICE enquiries are continuing into a dramatic incident in which a vehicle hit a house in South Ockendon.

Police were called to Broxburn Drive in South Ockendon shortly before 7pm on Friday (11 November) following reports of a van striking the side of a house. 

A police statement says: "Those involved were not injured. A 63-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving while over the alcohol limit.

"He has since been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue. "
