A COMMUNITY interest company that helps people combat mental health issues - particularly involving suicidal thoughts - is hoping members of the local community will be able to help them shape the best possible service for Thurrock residents.

Reach Out for Mental Health provide three hubs where people can find help and someone to talk to if they are feeling stressed, overwhelmed or suicidal. At the moment, because of Covid-17 restrictions the hubs are suspended but help is still available.

When they are running the hubs are based in South Ockendon, Grays and Purfleet and you can find out more about the charity via this link or their Facebook page.

The team behind the charity are still seeking help to provide the help people need and have invited anyone interested to join their working group.

Clair Harding from the charity said: "We're looking to develop a working group to help shape the service and ensure the support we provide is right for our community.

"We are looking for people with lived experience of mental health problems, suicidal thoughts or those bereaved by suicide.

"We want to know what has worked for you in the past, what hasn't and what kind of support you would like to see available in the future.

"We want your advice on the support we offer, if it needs adapting or re-thinking altogether.

"As a group we'll meet once every three months over Zoom or face to face if government guidance allows.
