Charity show brings Olympic sport to borough next month

IF watching today's medal-winning GB dressage team sparked your interest in the event, then you can see it for real at an event in Thurrock later next month.
The Orsett Showground will play host to an August Bank Holiday Charity Horse and Dog Show featuring dressage among other displays on Saturday, 28 August.
The event, sponsored by specialist recruitment consultancy McNally Associates, will raise funds for local charities Hectors Gate Animal Sanctuary, German Shepherd Rescue Elite and the South Essex Wildlife Hospital at Orsett.
A statement from he organisers says: "The purpose of this event is to raise as much funds as possible for three amazing and extremely worthy local animal charities.
"There will be lots of fun classes for all abilities with rosettes to 6th place, trophies to 1st (Horse classes), Button Farm Sash and Championship Rosettes to Championship Winner and Championship Rosette to the Championship Runner-up.
"Other attractions include a raffle, catering by Munchies, Mollys Lollies Ice cream van and cakes by Kirstys Cakery and photographer Mellody Fisher."
