Regional organiser Loraine Coleman said: "We all had the most fun night, lots of laughter with lovely company.

"At the end of the evening we were presented with an amazingly generous £220 from the proceeds of the Race night and £100 from the Deveron Gardens Community Hall.

All smiles at the races.

"Thank you so so much to Kevin, Colin and everyone at South Ockendon Social Club. We really do get to meet such wonderfully, generous Thurrock residents.

"We have also been offered their function hall for our tea parties. Thank you to Paul who ran the race night and our lovely volunteer Paula who stepped in to be the bookie for the night.
