Clean up number two sees area left in a better condition

By Nub News Reporter 17th Apr 2023

ELECTION candidates put their differences aside to join a litter pick in Tilbury over the weekend.

The second clean up of alleys near Chaucer Close was organised by Cllr John Allen after an intial plan to clean up in another part of the town was postponed because of the scale of the job and ground conditions.

He was joined by volunteers from the town, including rival election candidates Allen Mayes, the incumbent Conservative councillor, and Craig Austin who is challenging for the Tilbury Riverside and Thurrock Park seat as a non-aligned independent.

Also picking were resdients Keith Harrington, Vince Offord and Erica Deller.

Thurrock Council will take awaay the bags of rubbish collected by the volunteers.
