A CONTROVERSIAL planning application due to be considered at Thurock Council's planning committee last night (Thursday, 13 August) was pulled from the agenda at the 11th hour.

Councillors were due to debate the site called 'Tremorgan' at the end of Sandown Road near Orsett but committee chair Cllr Tom Kelly told members the applicants had asked for the matter to be deferred.

"We have tried to contact them but we do not know why. Maybe they will be withdrawing it, we just don't know," said Cllr Kelly.

The application - which had previously been deferred for a site visit - is recommended for refusal.
