DEVELOPERS have returned to Thurrock Council with another bid to build more than 100 homes on part of Little Thurrock Marshes adjacent to Thurrock Park Way between Tilbury and Grays.

Over recent years residents have won successive battles against a number of applications to develop the site but Nordor Holdings Ltd are going back to next Thursday's (19 March) planning committee with another bid for up to 161 new dwellings.

Planning officers are recommending that the application be rejected.

Nordor announced their new application last August in the wake of a decision by the Planning Inspectorate to back Thurrock Council's decision to block a previous application for 280 homes on the site.

That was only narrowly defeated at a planning meeting so the developers have come back with their revised scheme.

The application has already been strongly opposed by local residents - with more than 650 objections logged on the council's planning website.
