Council and cops in operation to make Tilbury safer

WORKING with Thurrock Council, members of Essex Police's borough community policing team have been conducting joint patrols aimed at tackling anti-social behaviour in the Tilbury area.

A statement from police says: "We are committed to continuing special patrols like these to help make Tilbury a safer community for all.

"Thanks to all those involved for their dedication and hard work.

"These patrols yielded the following results:-

- Information Report submitted after a vehicle identified in a possible drug deal with the rider of an electric bike outside Co-Op on Calcutta Road.

- A number of youths were dispersed from an area of Calcutta Road where ASB has previously been reported.

- Insecure Vehicle found on Hobart Road. The registered owner was contacted who attended to collect their vehicle. They assured officers their vehicle was not stolen.

- Community Protection Warning (CPW) Issued to a resident. This related to a Mini Moto ridden by youths on the field behind North View.

- Fly-Tipping found on Adelaide Road. This was referred to Enforcement for further action.

- Conducted call on a vulnerable victim referred by Tenancy. A subsequent referral was made to Housing Safeguarding.

- Off-road Electric Motorbike evaded police from the park at Centenary House. Officers have established a potential link to an address, which will be followed up.

- Insecure yard identified. Deposits of Nitrous Oxide (NO2) cannisters found and fly-tipped with building materials on Hume Avenue. Enforcement will follow up with landowner to clear and secure.

- Checked local housing blocks for ASB, however no activity was detected.
