THURROCK Council is seeking the help of parents and carers and it examines its strategy for child care across the borough.

It is the latest in a number os surveys on the subject and follows a presvious suvery into the future of two council-run nurseries in Tilbury, which looked set for closure but public interest and an 'overwhelming response' prompted a reconsideration and it now looks like they will go into the private sector.

The new survey can be found on the council's website, via this link.

The council says: "This survey is to find out from parents and carers what their experiences and needs are in relation to childcare. The information will be used to inform our Childcare Sufficiency Assessment. It will also help us plan to make sure there are enough high quality childcare places at the times and in the places families need it.

This survey is for all parents or carers of children from birth to age 14 and all parents or carers of children/young people with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities from birth to age 25.
