Council to use CCTV images in war against anti-social behaviour

THURROCK Council is set to start shaming offenders who breach anti-social behavior, fly-tipping, - and public nuisance regulations by publishing their pictures online.

At this week's meeting of the authority's ruling cabinet it was agreed to support a recommendation to use CCTV images in the fight against crime.

The cabinet has approved the use of images in local publications and on the internet including the council's website. Previously, though it held images of offenders, the council has been barred by its own protocols from using the images.
