Council's workers gifted goggles from local school

THURROCK Council has expressed its thanks to William Edwards School for a donation of googles which will be used as personal protection equipment by its workers.

The council took to social media to express gratitude, saying: "Many thanks to William Edwards School, Grays, for donating 54 pairs of goggles and 382 pairs of science glasses to protect Thurrock frontline workers battling coronavirus.

"The googles will be used within adult social care and we are looking at areas to benefit from the glasses."

Meanwhile council chief Exec Lyn Carpenter has also been posting on behalf of the council, passing on the authority's thanks to the NHS, key workers and volunteers with a rainbow post.

She urges residents to 'Stay home, stay safe'.
