Courts are guaranteed winners and more laughter is promised with return of Rene and crew

By Nub News Reporter 28th Jan 2025

Oh 'Eck! Thurrock Courts Players return to the Thameside Theatre this February with the second instalment from the staff and patrons of Café Rene – 'Allo Allo 2, The Camembert Caper'

Join all your favourite characters once again in this new storyline involving 50,000 Francs and a series of identical cheeses.

Rene still must hide his relationships with waitresses Yvette and Mimi from his wife Edith; Michelle and Crabtree continue to try and assist the British Airmen in returning to England; and Colonel Von Strohm along with Gruber and Geering try their best to get through the war avoiding the wrath of General Von Klinkerhoffen and Herr Flick.

Completing the cast this time around are Edith's bedridden mother Fanny, and Monsieur Alphonse and his 'dicky tick-er'.

You will be guaranteed wine, women and song as Madame Edith serenades the café patrons in her own inimitable way, Yvette and Helga attempt to seduce the General at his Chateau and a troupe of Can-Can dancers visit Nouvien.

The show follows last year's sold-out performance, which has been nominated for Best Drama in NODA District 10 for 2024.

Victoria Grayling, who plays Michelle of the Resitance said: "We're delighted to be bringing these characters back to Grays for the Allo Allo sequel, and overwhelmed that not only is this show nominated for the NODA award, but also our other 2024 shows Cash on Delivery and Blithe Spirit!

"Running unopposed in the category means we're guaranteed to bring home the prize this year – but for which show? Watch this space."

The show runs for four performances with the reintroduction of the Saturday matinee showing, and tickets are selling fast. Get yours now from the Thameside Theatre Box Office ALLO ALLO 2 - THE CAMEMBERT CAPER
