Covid numbers in Thurrock on the rise

LATEST figures issued by the government this evening (Tuesday, 17 November) say that since the coronavirus pandemic began there have been 187 deaths in the borough within 28 days of the deceased receiving a positive test of Covid-19.

In the past week there have been 19 deaths which include Covid-19 on the death certificate.

Within Thurrock there have been 371 cases of people recorded as having tested positive for Covid-19.

Nationally, this evening, the government has reported there were 1,937 deaths involving coronavirus (COVID-19) in England and Wales in the week ending 6 November 2020, the highest weekly figure since the week ending 22 May 2020.

Thurrock's coronavirus infection rate (given as a number of infections per 100,000 residents) is 199 which is marginally up from last week.
