LONDON's International Cruise terminal at Tilbury was a hive of activity this morning with the arrival of two ships that will now lay up because of the coronavirus situation.

The Viking Star, which is part of the Viking Cruises fleet, has moved into the Port of Tilbury from the Thames riverside and no sooner had she slipped her berth than the Magellan, owned and run by Thurrock-based Cruise and Maritime Voyages, moved alongside.

Due to the escalating global pandemic outbreak of the Covid-19 coronavirus, Cruise & Maritime Voyages has confirmed the temporary suspension of all worldwide cruise operations for embarkations for six weeks until Friday 24 April 2020.
