THURROCK Mayor Cllr James Halden continues to honour champions across the borough community through his 'Roll of Honour'.

Since June 2022, the Mayoral Roll of Honour has recognised 33 individuals, charities, businesses and groups that have helped make Thurrock a better place.

One such nominee was Proximity Church, who were honoured for its MADE course to support troubled young people in Thurrock.

Joyce Gjoni, Director of Proximity Schools, says: "We are very grateful for the support of Mr Mayor, ever since he hosted one of our first workplace visits to the Council Chamber.

"His nomination for the Roll of Honour confirms that we are serving a need in our community, and encourages our team and volunteers to keep going."

If you know of an inspirational person or group that deserves to be recognised, you can nominate them for the Roll of Honour today.
